Tuesday November 6 Update

Originally published on Multiply November 6th, 2007

Here I am again with the latest update on Tony.

Last night he didn't sleep well at all, there was too much noise around, a lot of equipment beeping through the night and the nurses couldn't make it stop. Very annoying for the patients. So he only slept for a few hours, but he's still doing good.

He finally is allowed to eat, and today's food wasn't too bad, as hospital food goes......lol.....at this point any food is pretty good, as he hadn't had any since last Friday night.

The cardiologist came over today, he said they would start him on Heparin today and then get back on Coumadin, they started a slow drip of Heparin tonight. Because of the chest pains he had, he's going to get another test done, and I don't exactly know what it is, but I think it was one that he had an appointment at Hotel-Dieu today, which I had to cancel this week. Hopefully that will be done tomorrow. He's till in ICU for now, don't know what tomorrow will bring, but hopefully he'll move to a regular room and be able to walk around, that's what is bugging him the most - understandably, being stuck in that room, at least he can get out of bed.

But now tonight the nurse had to change his IV lines, the ones that were in use were too old and not too good, so she got another one going, trouble is, it's hard to get a good vein, she blew one, another wouldn't let the line in, it was blocked, so she had to start over 2 or 3 times, but finally  got one going, but since it was in the other arm, we had to change everything around in the room, so he could access the commode (there is no bathroom in his room) but he now can't sit in his chair, because the IV is on the other side, it's very frustrating for him.

If all goes well with the Heparin tonight and there is no bleeding, they will start him back on the Coumadin tomorrow. Still don't know long he'll be there, hopefully no more than a couple of days.

Stay tuned for more news tomorrow :)

Listen Mo,
Make sure YOU are taking good care. Get plenty of rest, eat healthy foo, and get some fresh air each day. Stress is a killer.
Do something that delights you.
Keeping you both in prayer!
Hugs,
mk

Thank you both for your kind words. Talked to him about an hour ago, a nurse came in and said his phosphate was low, not sure what that means, so I came down here to look that up on the 'net.
Thanks for the prayers, they sure do help
Hugs
Mo
